College of Engineering Unit:
Oregon State University has requested a design proposal for the Learning Innovation Center (LInC); a center for inventive approaches to teaching and understanding, and a hub for students of all disciplines to create connections. Located to the West of the Memorial Union and just North of Austin Hall, the building will be on main display for all passersby to appreciate. The Beaver Engineering team plans to attract their attention with seamless lighting design from Paul Matipwiri, and water features such as a green roof and water retention designed by Natalia Schilling; all under a resilient and trustworthy structure designed by Ziyi Peng, Theodore Stephenson, and Detlef Laughery.
With the proposed designs, the entire Oregon State community will have an outstanding new building with efficient lighting, spectacular water features doubling as retention, and structural systems able to withstand all expected loading scenarios
