Project Description:

Electric in-space propulsion works by generating a plasma and manipulating it with magnetic or electrical fields to produce a thrust, typically at low mass flow rates at a very high velocity enabling higher top speeds (50,000 m/s) than chemical or reaction powered engines. The ultimate goal of this project is to fabricate a functional prototype of an ion engine in CubeSat (10 x 10 x 10 cm) dimension.
