COvered is a mask designed with a novel Ruthenium complex that can detect accumulated exposure to significant levels of carbon monoxide over time, akin to a radiation badge for radiation exposure. The primary application is intended for wildland firefighters working in conditions where levels of carbon monoxide are above background, but not high enough to warrant use of full breathing gear, or for times when full breathing gear is not available and exposure needs to be limited while work continues.
