Prior our project, the OSU Craft Center relied on a traditional pen and paper system for membership registration, class registration, and signing waiver agreements. Moreover, staff members used various spreadsheets to view and edit records of members and staff. The constant back and forth between multiple spreadsheets to paper in a binder caused a multitude of headaches, not to mention the time it took for staff members to find student and class information.
Confronted with the problem at hand, we set out to create an online system to store student and class data and handle the class registration process. This website will be designed to assist with signing new members up to the craft center, allowing current members to update their information, registering members to courses offered by the craft center, and maintaining a record of previous courses taken and payments made by the member.
