Project Description:

Our product ENV1 is an accessible at-home environmental allergen test. It is a microneedle patch that is easy to use and evaluated by the user so they are confident in the results. The patch is placed on the skin of the forearm with a tape portion left on the skin after the patch is removed so that customers can recall the placement of the microneedles while they wait for the results. It tests for multiple allergies at once with ten rows of microneedles that are coated in allergens and two rows with positive and negative control. Each row will test for a different allergen. The patch is removed from the skin after thirty seconds, and the labeled tape portion will remain. The portion of the patch that is labeled one through ten with 3M surgical micropore paper tape will stay on the user's skin once the patch is removed. This tape will clearly indicate where the top and bottom of the patch is and what allergen is found on each row.  The microneedles are made of stainless steel, the patch itself is made of bamboo tape, and the labeled tape is made of micropore paper tape. The microneedles adhere to the bamboo tape with the adhesive on the tape.
