Project Description:
The object of the Albemarle project is to propose a design plan that can produce 5,000 metric tons per year of diphenylethane (DPE) from a Friedel-Crafts reaction using benzene and 1,2-Dichloroethane, and aluminum trichloride as a catalyst. The final product of DPE is desired to be at more than 99% purity. A cost estimate of the production of DPE will be calculated as well as an estimate for what the final price of DPE should be.
