Project Description: 

Celilo Cycles is a startup company specializing in wooden bicycles and bicycle frames. Currently, the company’s owner and sole employee Scott Campbell runs it from his home garage in Philomath, Oregon. He is reaching out to the capstone students in the School of Mechanical, Industrial, and Manufacturing Engineering (MIME) to help plan the expansion of his company. The deliverable for Team 202 will be an expansion plan with production information including, but not limited to:

  • Takt times for different production levels.
  • Facility equipment and staffing requirements to fulfill predetermined production targets.
  • Space and safety requirements for departments within the new facility.
  • A detailed simulation demonstrating the viability of the proposed solution.
