Puget Sound Naval ShipyardPuget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS) is filling entry-level engineering positions for interested and qualified students. We are located near Seattle, Washington and operated by the United States Navy to overhaul, modernize, and maintain naval vessels including aircraft carriers and submarines. Engineers work on projects involving combat systems, communications equipment, navigation systems, propulsion systems, ship structures, electrical and mechanical system testing, and nuclear reactor plants. Many engineers work ‘in the field’ for a good percentage of their job, which for PSNS means working directly on systems inside of an aircraft carrier or submarine located in a drydock or pier-side. Work can involve travel to off-site locations, including San Diego, California, and Japan. This is a civilian, non-military position. |
