Project Description:

This project is based on an ancient fighting style called Sumo Wrestling. This match's purpose is to use body weight and muscle to push the opponent out of the designated playing field. Typically, this is performed in a large ring called a dohyo where fighters start in the center facing each other. Instead of people, this challenge incorporates robots. We will be competing in a Sumo Robot challenge against two other teams at OSU where the rules are practically the same. The playing field is a large ring on a steel surface. Two remote-controlled robots will face off in the center and the goal is to force the opponent out of the ring by simply pushing. Flipping or intentionally damaging the opponent here is not allowed.
