Project Description:
The 2023-2024 OSU Solar Airplane Project is composed of a capstone team made of 8 capstone members and 3 active volunteers. This is the second year of the project at OSU, and this year’s team is proud to continue the legacy and progress made by last year’s team. The project is experimental, where the main goal is to develop a proof of concept. The proof of concept this year was the the modification of an existing RC aircraft to sustain steady flight for 12 hours. This was accomplished with the aid of wing extensions for more solar panels, ardupilot for reduced pilot workload, and various other tools listed in the poster.
