Project Description:

Team MIME 4.26 was assigned the task of documenting and standardizing the competition and test flow for BAJA Beaver Racing. Our goal was to convert their informally shared knowledge into a common understanding that can be used during competition days. Our team is sponsored by Logan Misbach, a fourth-year mechanical engineer who also serves as a team captain. Our advisor is Dr. Vergara, a professor of industrial engineering at Oregon State University.

Our team had to start from scratch because the BAJA Beaver Racing team had little to no documented information on their test days. To proceed, we conducted interviews with four team members, including the driver, head pit crew manager, and both captains. We delegated their top three priorities, which led to their paddock layout, along with two checklists: one for organizing their tools and trailers, and another for pre-vehicle inspection. These documents were tested, edited and finalized to be optimal and standardized for future competition days.
