Project Description:
Traditional liquid separation processes are often costly and energy-intensive. The “Multiphase Microchannel Separator”, or MMS, seeks to improve liquid separations using a microscale fluid flow device that can perform liquid-liquid extraction on a thin plate. The process occurs rapidly and in a single unit smaller than a hand; on an industrial scale, these units can be stacked or “numbered up” to provide separation with a smaller footprint and higher efficiency.
