Project Description:

The synth generator project aims to create an easy to use, versatile, and robust synth generator that emulates the retro feel our users desire. The team has attended the Iterate program to learn more about market research and determine exactly who our product appeals to and what features it must include. The system will include a variety of unique presets, a simple yet clear graphical user interface, simple buttons and knobs for control, essential audio modulation features, a traditional synth generator, and the ability for built in speaker output or the option for output directly to an audio editing program. The hardware and software behind the product will be explained in high detail throughout this document, yet the user will require no prior knowledge of these topics to use the product.

The planning and development of the system will take place during the fall semester. Parts will be ordered by the end of the fall term with thorough planning taking place over the winter break. Starting winter term, development will begin with each team member handling their own aspect of the project. By the end of winter semester, it’s expected each team member will have completed their own parts of the project. Of course collaboration will still be essential during this time. Final system integration will occur near the end of the winter term and continue into the beginning of spring term. The final product will be presented in spring term along with the final documentation.
