Project Description:

The Spark Cart is a mobile CNC machine enclosed in a custom sheet metal enclosure and mounted to a mobile work table. At it's core this project is about empowerment with STEM technology. There are two main problems we seek to address with this project. The first is that these powerful creative machines; 3D printers, CNC routers, and laser cutters, are often inaccessible to creative people outside of the engineering sphere. The other is that although more and more facilities are popping up offering these equipment services to a greater demographic, the process is still often daunting and discouraging to those not fluent in machine work. Our project addresses the first issue by being mobile and relatively cheap to produce. We address the second issue by placing massive emphasis on simplicity of use.
